Come hungry. Unwrap.

Order from your neighbourhood restaurant and get a surprise: your meal is swapped with another customer's order of a similar price.

How it works

It's an extra you switch on while ordering. The restaurant's page works like any normal ordering page, and the Chu-Swap option lives in your cart. Your Chu-Swapper is the other customer you swap meals with: you never learn who they are, and they never learn who you are.

  1. Pick a restaurant. Tap its card above. You land on its menu, laid out like the restaurant's own ordering page.
  2. Order like normal. Add what you want. Your order builds up in the cart: on the right-hand side on a computer, or at the bottom on a phone (tap the “View order” bar).
  3. Find the “Make it a Chu-Swap” box in your cart, just above the Place order button, and tap Opt in. Leave it alone and you simply place a regular order.
  4. Sign in with your email. The box asks for your email and we send you a link. No password: tap the link and you land right back at your order. Signing in is what lets you earn Chu-Stars and choose who you get swapped with.
  5. Set up your swap. Choose how adventurous you are (Standard, Wider or Widest: a bigger range costs a slightly bigger swap fee, shown before you order), choose your dietary needs (we only swap you with a Chu-Swapper who picked the same), and tick the box that says all swaps are final: no returns or refunds because you'd have preferred the other meal.
  6. Place the order and pay the restaurant. Your total shows the food, tax, any service fee, a delivery fee (delivery only, never for pickup) and the swap fee. You pay the restaurant when your food is delivered or when you pick it up. Chu-Swap never takes your payment. Whoever receives the cheaper meal gets the price difference taken off.
  7. Unwrap, then tell us how it went. You find out what you got when it arrives. Then open My account and, for the Chu-Swapper whose pick you ate (you'll never learn who): give them a Chu-Star, say Chu-Yes to be paired with them again, or Chu-No to never be paired. You can change your mind any time. Chu-Stars add up: collect enough at a restaurant and you get a free item there.
